ABOUT
The Gran Sport name has been used on a series of high-performance automobiles produced by General Motors for its Buick division since 1965.
Within GM's brand hierarchy, Buick was second only to Cadillac in terms of luxury and comfort appointments, and as Cadillac did not offer dedicated performance models at the time, the Buick GS series represented the most lavishly equipped GM performance cars of their era.
This Buick GS benefits from a concours-style, ground-up restoration completed in 2013. It is powered by its original 455-ci Buick V8, paired with a Gardner exhaust system and the original GM Turbo-Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic transmission. The car is presented with all correct specifications, including Cortez Gold paint, Saddle interior, Rallye Ride Control Suspension, chrome Rallye wheels, power steering, and power front disc and rear drum brakes.
This example is one of only 1378 Buick GS hardtops produced for the 1971 model year equipped with the Turbo-Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic transmission.
