Do you remember when Jaguar was dominating the race tracks with legendary cars like the D-Type?
The Jaguar D-Type made history by winning the 24 heures of Le Mans overall in 1955, 1956, and 1957. Introduced in 1954 as the successor to the C-Type, this two-seater racing sports car became one of Jaguar's most iconic creations.
This particular D-Type was spotted over the weekend at the Coupes Auto Légende in Montlhéry. No idea whether it's a genuine example or a replica, but seeing this big cat running along the upper section of the banking was an absolutely fantastic moment. Many thanks to the owner for sharing this beautiful machine with us.
Splendid Bugatti Type 55 (replica) spotted over the weekend at the Coupes Auto Légende 2026 event, organised by Editions LVA at the Montlhéry circuit near Paris. The body is original, although it was fitted to a different chassis back in the day. It was built by the Belgian coachbuilder Pritchard & Demollin, based in Angleur, Belgium, which was active in the late 1920s and 1930s. Many thanks to the owner for sharing this lovely car.
When you see a star in the flesh, just after reading a great article in a famous French classic car magazine (Rétroviseur, February 2025), what do you do? You take pictures, of course! Here is a famous Peugeot 204 Coupé, driven by M. François Allain.
PS: A splendid Saturday spent at Montlhéry for the Coupes Auto Légendes 2026. Thanks to the organizing team. See you next year.
