Chevrolet Camaro SS
The Camaro is a mid-size car manufactured by Chevrolet, classified as a pony car. It first went on sale in the Fall 1966, for the 1967 model year, and was designed to compete with the Ford Mustang. Since then, it has seen several generations, and the competition with Ford never stopped.
The fifth generation, after a eight-year hiatus, was introduced in 2010, and produced during five years.
The SS model (Super Sport) was the small block, naturally aspirated, version with two types of 6.2-litre V8 engines. The LS3 was offered with a manual 6-speed Tremec TR-6060 transmission and the L99 with an automatic 6-speed GM 6L80 transmission. The L99 is an adapted LS3 with active fuel management, which enables the engine to run on four cylinders only under certain driving conditions.
ABOUT
This is the only car I bought new in 2013, because I wanted to drive a convertible with a large engine. The addition of a 6-speed stick was also a criterion. Great car.
